Official Compliance & Quality Assurance

The Global Verification Standard

Exporting luxury vehicles across international borders requires absolute precision. Our multi-layered certification process ensures your investment is legally compliant, mechanically perfect, and ready for immediate registration in your home country.

Why We Mandate Third-Party Audits

At Overland & Offshore, we maintain an internal inspection team of over 20 master technicians. However, we believe that self-certification is insufficient for high-value international transactions. To provide our clients with absolute peace of mind, we have institutionalized a requirement for independent, third-party verification for every single export.

This approach removes the possibility of "sales-biased" reporting. When an inspector from SGS or TUV walks onto our lot, they are not there to help us sell a car; they are there to represent the regulatory standards of the destination country. Their report is final, legally binding, and transparent.

By aligning our inventory with the world's strictest inspection protocols, we ensure that every vehicle arriving at a foreign port is welcomed by customs authorities rather than flagged for non-compliance.

Technical Inspection

Our Certified Partners

We work exclusively with the "Big Four" of international inspection.

SGS

SGS Global

With over 97,000 employees and 2,650 offices worldwide, SGS is the undisputed leader in inspection and verification. For Overland & Offshore, SGS handles the majority of our African and South American exports, providing Pre-Shipment Inspections (PSI) that are mandatory for customs clearance in these regions.

Specialization: Roadworthiness, Valuation, and Verification of Conformity (VoC).

BV

Bureau Veritas

A world leader in laboratory testing, inspection, and certification services. Bureau Veritas is our primary partner for Middle Eastern and Southeast Asian compliance. Their automotive division is renowned for its deep technical audits of electronic control units (ECU) and emissions control systems.

Specialization: Regulatory compliance, environmental impact, and safety system audits.

TUV

TUV Rheinland

The TUV mark is a worldwide recognized symbol of quality and safety. For European-bound vehicles, TUV certification is essential. They conduct exhaustive mechanical stress tests and ensure that aftermarket modifications comply with stringent EU "Type Approval" regulations.

Specialization: Mechanical integrity, German engineering standards, and EU Type Approval.

ITK

Intertek

Intertek delivers innovative and bespoke assurance, testing, and inspection solutions. They are our preferred partners for North American and Australasian markets, specializing in the specific EPA (USA) and ADR (Australia) standards that differ significantly from European protocols.

Specialization: Supply chain security, regional environmental standards, and safety glass verification.

Technical Inspection Protocols

What exactly do the independent inspectors check? Below is a non-exhaustive list of the critical points covered in every report.

Category Specific Checkpoints Compliance Standard
Structural Integrity Chassis alignment, sub-frame corrosion, weld point authenticity, impact zone verification. Global NCAP / OEM Factory Specs
Emissions Systems Catalytic converter presence, DPF status, NOx output levels, ECU mapping verification. Euro 6d / EPA Tier 3
Mechanical Systems Brake force distribution, suspension damping rates, transmission fluid analysis, cooling efficiency. Roadworthiness (RWC)
Safety Systems Airbag deployment triggers, ABS/ESC modulation, seatbelt pretensioner health, ADAS calibration. ISO 26262 / ASIL
Identity Verification VIN etching, engine block stamps, transmission ID matching, digital footprint verification. Interpol / Global Theft DB
Electrical Systems Battery health, alternator output, lighting luminosity, infotainment/navigation functionality. OEM Diagnostic Standards
Interior/Exterior Upholstery condition, paint depth analysis (to detect hidden repairs), glass authenticity. Overland & Offshore Grade A

Regional Compliance Requirements

Every destination has its own unique hurdles. We tailor our certification process accordingly.

Europe (EU/UK)

Focuses heavily on Euro 6 emissions standards and Pedestrian Safety. Requires a "Certificate of Conformity" (CoC) and TUV mechanical clearance.

Middle East (GCC)

Requires "GSO Compliance". Focuses on heat resistance of cooling systems, high-performance AC units, and specific labeling in Arabic/English.

North America

Requires EPA (Environmental) and DOT (Safety) compliance. Vehicles must meet FMVSS standards, often requiring modifications to lighting and bumpers.

Africa (EAC/SADC)

Often requires a Pre-Shipment Inspection (PSI) from SGS or QISJ. Focuses on vehicle age limits and roadworthiness for rugged terrain.

Asia Pacific

Standards vary widely. Japan (JEVIC) and Australia (ADR) have some of the world's strictest quarantine and safety protocols.

South America

Focuses on duty valuations and VIN authenticity to prevent the import of stolen goods. Bureau Veritas is the primary auditor here.

The 20% Certification Release

Why this deposit is the most critical step in your purchase.

20%

Fixed Release Deposit

To maintain our status with SGS, TUV, and other global bodies, we must schedule inspections well in advance. The 20% release fee is required to initiate this formal process. This is not an additional cost, but a portion of your total vehicle price that is allocated immediately to secure your unit and begin the legal documentation.

  • Physical Vehicle Reservation Allocated
  • Independent Inspector Retainer Allocated
  • Government Portal Documentation Fees Allocated
  • Lab Testing & Emissions Verification Allocated
  • Certificate of Conformity (CoC) Issuance Allocated
  • Customs Pre-Clearance Filing Allocated

The Fail-Safe Guarantee: In the rare event that a vehicle fails its independent certification and cannot be rectified to the required standard, the 20% fee is 100% refundable. Your risk is zero; our commitment is absolute.
